সামগ্রিক লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য :

• তথ্য প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার জোরদাকরণ;
• সকল স্তরে শিক্ষকদের কার্যকারিতা নিশ্চিতকরণ;
• জেন্ডার সমতা নিশ্চিতকরণ।
• মূল্যবোধভিত্তিক শিক্ষার প্রসার;
• চাহিদা মাফিক ও চাকুরির যোগ্যতা অর্জনের লক্ষ্যে শিক্ষা;

শিক্ষার সাধারণ উদ্দেশ্য:

• দেশের অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক অগ্রগতি সাধনের জন্য শিক্ষাকে সৃজনধর্মী প্রয়োগমুখী ও উৎপাদন সহায়ক করে তোলা; শিক্ষার্থীদেরকে বৈজ্ঞানিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিসম্পন্ন ব্যক্তিত্ব হিসেবে গড়ে তেলা এবং তাদের মধ্যে নেতৃত্বের গুণাবলির বিকাশে সহায়তা করা।
• জাতি, ধর্ম, গোত্র নির্বিশেষে আর্থসামাজিক শ্রেণি-বৈষম্য ও নারী পুরুষ বৈষম্য দূর করা, অসাম্প্রদায়িকতা, বিশ্ব-ভ্রাতৃত্ব, সৌহার্দ্য ও মানুষে মানুষে সহমর্মিতাবোধ গড়ে তোলা এবং মানবাধিকারের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল করে তোলা।
• ব্যক্তি ও জাতীয় জীবনে নৈতিক, মানবিক, সাংস্কৃতিক, বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক ও সামাজিক মূল্যবোধ প্রতিষ্ঠাকল্পে শিক্ষার্থীদের মননে, কর্মে ও ব্যবহারিক জীবনে উদ্দীপনা সৃষ্টি করা।
• মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনায় শিক্ষার্থীদের অনুপ্রাণিত করে তোলা ও তাদের চিন্তা-চেতনায় দেশাত্ববোধ, জাতীয়তাবোধ এবং তাদের চরিত্রে সুনাগরিকের গুণাবলির যেমন: ন্যায়বোধ, অসাম্প্রদায়িক-চেতনাবোধ, কর্তব্যবোধ, মানবাধিকার সচেতনতা, মুক্তবুদ্ধির চর্চা, শৃঙ্খলা, সৎ জীবনযাপনের মানসিকতা, সৌহার্দ্য, অধ্যবসায় ইত্যাদি বিকাশ ঘটানো।
• জাতীয় ইতিহাস, ঐতিহ্য ও সংস্কৃতি ধারা বিকশিত করে প্রজন্ম পরস্পরায় সঞ্চালনের ব্যবস্থা করা।
• দেশজ আবহ ও উপাদান সম্পৃক্ততার মাধ্যমে শিক্ষাকে শিক্ষার্থীর চিন্তা-চেতনা ও সৃজনশীলতার উজ্জীবন এবং তার জীবনঘনিষ্ঠ বিকাশে সহায়তা করা।
• বৈষম্যহীন সমাজ সৃষ্টি করার লক্ষ্যে মেধা ও প্রবণতা অনুযায়ী স্থানিক, সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক অবস্থান নির্বিশেষে সকলের জন্য শিক্ষা লাভের সমান সুযোগ-সুবিধা অবারিত করা। শিক্ষাকে মুনাফা অর্জনের লক্ষ্যে পণ্য হিসেবে ব্যবহার না করা।
• গণতান্ত্রিক চেতনাবোধ বিকাশের জন্য পারস্পরিক মতাদর্শের প্রতি সহনশীল হওয়া এবং জীবনমুখী বস্তুনিষ্ঠ ও ইতিবাচক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি বিকাশে সহায়তা করা।
• মুখস্থ বিদ্যার পরিবর্তে বিকশিত চিন্তাশক্তি, কল্পনাশক্তি ও অনুসন্ধিৎসু মননের অধিকার হয়ে শিক্ষার্থীরা যাতে মানসম্পন্ন যোগ্যতা অর্জন করতে পারে তা নিশ্চিত করা।
• বিশ্বপরিমন্ডলে বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে সফল অংশগ্রহণ নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে শিক্ষার বিভিন্ন পর্যায়ে ও বিষয়ে উচ্চমানের দক্ষতা সৃষ্টি করা।
• জ্ঞানভিত্তিক তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি নির্ভর (ডিজিটাল) বাংলাদেশ গড়ার লক্ষ্যে তথ্য ও প্রযুক্তি (আইসিটি) এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট অন্যান্য (গণিত, বিজ্ঞান ও ইংরেজি) শিক্ষাকে যথাযথ গুরুত্ব প্রদান করা।
• শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনসহ প্রাকৃতিক ও সামাজিক পরিবেশ-সচেতনতা এবং এতদসংক্রান্ত বিষয়ে দক্ষ জনশক্তি সৃষ্টি করা।
• দেশের আদিবাসীসহ সকল ক্ষুদ্রজাতিসত্তার সংস্কৃতি ও ভাষার বিকাশ ঘটনানো।
• সব ধরণের প্রতিবন্ধীর শিক্ষার অধিকার নিশ্চিত করা।

4. অর্জনসমূহ

• গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকার কর্তৃক বিনামূল্যে সরবরাহকৃ পাঠ্যপুস্তক সংগ্রহ করে জেলা ও মাঠ পর্যায়ে সু-শৃঙ্খলভাবে বিতরণ এবং প্রতিষ্ঠানের চাহিদা সংগ্রহ করে পরবর্তী বছরের সরবরাহের জন্য কর্তৃপক্ষের নিকট প্রেরণ
• জাতীয় দিবসসহ সরকারি নির্দেশনা মোতাবেক অন্যান্য দিবস সমূহ যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় উদযাপন।
• জেলায় কর্মরত শিক্ষকদের প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদান।
• আইসিটি ও ভাষা ল্যাবসমূহ যথাযথভাবে সংরক্ষণ ও ব্যবহার নিশ্চিতকরণ।
• কৃতিভিত্তিক ব্যবস্থাপনা পদ্ধতির ব্যবহার।
• ধারাবাহিক মূল্যায়নের ব্যবহার।
• জেন্ডার সমতা আনয়ন।
• ঝরে পড়া রোধ।
• কারিগরি ও বিজ্ঞান শিক্ষায় শিক্ষার্থীদের আগ্রহী করা।
• বছরের শুরুতে মাউশি নির্ধারিত ইএমআইএস সেলে আইএমএস মডিউল তথ্য হালনাগাদ করণ।
• প্রতিষ্ঠান প্রধান কর্তৃক মাউশি নির্ধারিত প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক স্ব-মূল্যায়ন ছক যথাযথভাবে পূরণ করে নিজের প্রতিষ্ঠানের ক্যাটাগরি সম্পর্কে ধারণা লাভ।
• ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ বিনির্মাণে ও তথ্য প্রযুক্তির ব্যবহার সম্পর্কে শিক্ষকদের প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদান ও এর যথাযথ ব্যবহারের মাধ্যমে শ্রেণি কক্ষে মাল্টিমিডিয়া ক্লাসরুমের ব্যবহার নিশ্চিত করা।
• সঠিক সময়ে অনলাইন-এর মাধ্যমে এমপিও প্রত্যাশী শিক্ষকদের ফাইল প্রেরণ।
• কিশোর ও শিক্ষক বাতায়নের ব্যবহার।

General purpose of education:
